David Wallace is an Irish composer based in London whose music explores transformation, timbre and the subtle behaviour of musical material. Drawing inspiration from landscape, memory and narrative process, his work combines clarity, lyricism and emotional depth, ranging from intimate chamber music to large-scale orchestral forms.

Wallace studied composition at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Richard Baker and in Ireland with Rhona Clarke. His music has received international recognition through awards including the Tracey Chadwell Memorial Prize, the Boston Metro Opera Merit and Director's Choice Awards, and an Irish Fund of Great Britain Award. Developed through residencies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Cork School of Music and Clapham Chamber Concerts, his work has been performed by leading musicians across Europe and beyond.

His debut portrait album, Cliff Edge (Métier), brings together works composed over two decades and was praised by critics for its assured voice, lyricism and distinctive artistic identity. Wallace's music is published by Universal Edition and he is represented by the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland. He is Head of Junior Music Courses at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
